Former India all-rounder cricketer Suresh Raina is celebrating his son Rio’s first birthday today. On this occasion, Raina has told why he has named his son Rio.

Raina shared some pictures with son Rio on his Twitter and Instagram account, telling him to keep his name.

Most people know Rio from the 2016 Olympics held in Rio de Janeiro. Rio is actually the name of a river and the city got its name after this.

Suresh Raina and his wife Priyanka named their son Rio after this river.

Raina, wishing his son on the first birthday, wrote Rio my little baby, wishing you on your first birthday.

He further wrote that we named your name Rio which means river which symbolizes the power of nature.

On this occasion, Raina also remembered the worldwide lockdown due to Kovid 19. He wrote exactly one year ago, when the world was standing stable, you brought joy and happiness in our life.

Let me tell you that Raina had announced his retirement from his international career at the age of 33 on 15 August 2020 only last year and he returned from the UAE without playing in the IPL for personal reasons.

However, this star batsman is once again ready to play in the IPL for Chennai Super Kings CSK
